Tips to Help Receive Email Communication

How to Subscribe/Unsubscribe From Organizational Notifications and Emails

NOTE: If you do not see your phone number or email address under these settings, it means your profile is not a member of a SportsEngine site.

Your account notification settings determine where and from whom you receive messages.

  1. Sign in and go to your Settings tab of your user dashboard.

  2. Scroll down until you see your Notification Settings

  3. Check the boxes next to your email address or phone number to start or stop receiving communication from a particular organization. 

    • If you would also like to stop receiving team RSVP notifications, click on your team under the SE Bar to update your notifications.

    • If you want to remove the organization from a profile altogether, click HERE. 

How to Add Guardians

NOTE: Guardians do not receive text message notifications on behalf of the player profile. 

Family members of an athlete can be added as "Guardians" to view the team schedule, RSVP to games and events, message team members, and edit the athlete's profile.

  1. Sign in and go to your Household tab of your dashboard. 
  2. Click on an athlete sub profile.
    • NOTE: You can not add a Guardian to the account owner's profile. 
    • If you don't have a sub profile for the athlete, you will need to add one either through a registration or by claiming a roster spot
  3. On the right side, under the Guardians header, click the plus sign (+). 
  4. Input the Guardian’s email address to invite them.  
  5. Toggle which athlete profiles this Guardian should manage. 
  6. Click Send Invitation.

Helpful Tip! The invited guardian will appear on the Guardians tab as "Pending" until they accept their invite in their dashboard. You can resend a guardian invite at any time by tapping Resend next to the Guardian's name. You will receive an email when the Guardian has accepted the invite.  

How to Add Additional Emails to Receive Messages for an Athlete

  1. Sign in and go to the Household tab of your user dashboard.

  2. Select the athlete's profile that needs the email address added.

  3. In the top-right corner, click the Pencil Icon to edit.

  4. Enter the additional email address in the "Email Address 2" field.

  5. Scroll down and click Save. 

What is the Difference Between an Account Owner Profile and a Player Sub Profile?

An "account owner profile" and a "player sub profile" are both profiles of the Household.  So what's the difference?

An account owner profile is the profile for the owner of the household.  This profile should never be tied to registration and/or the roster unless the account owner is also an athlete/coach.  The account owner profile will have a login to the account, have full access to edit the account, and can manage other sub-profiles on the account.

  • "Guardians" cannot be added to an account owner profile.  However, an account owner profile can be a Guardian of a player profile.

The account owner profile is signified by the banner that reads "Me."

A player profile is an account sub-profile for an athlete and should be tied to a registration and/or the roster. A player profile will not have a login to the account and will only be created during registration or when added to a roster.  

  • Guardians can be added to a player profile.
